In
2010 humanity’s existence changed drastically. The
governments that were in power for centuries fell into
anarchy. Humanity reverted to a dark age of death,
destruction and depression. New York City, the symbol of
the 21st
century city
was destroyed by a nuclear weapon. At this time most
countries lost power over their economic, social, and
government control. Humans reverted to small communities
doing nothing but warring with one another for piety
reasons. This became known as the Second Medieval Age of
Humanity.
Eventually governments formed when small communities joined
together for common goals, such as attacking a larger force
than their own. One of the main factors that kept these
people together was their religion. Soon those who believed
it was their divine right to rule formed theocratic
governments. These theocratic governments turned their
piety arguments into large-scale wars, ruining what was
left of the planet. The humans dubbed this large-scale
conflict as the Fourth World War. Humanity destroyed itself
by its own religious cleansing.
During this time, on a planet light years away, another
anthropoid species was evolving. They called themselves
Tarken. The Tarkens were just entering their own medieval
age, when bronze weaponry became common. Unlike the humans,
the Tarkens were not war like and came together out of a
natural sense of unity. The Tarkens were still engrossed in
a global conflict. The three major factions left on the
planet fought a single battle for control over their
planet. One faction became victorious, and after a single
world conflict the Tarkens had a united government.
The Tarkens then entered a golden age that would last for
centuries, besides the small economic upheaval in which the
Tarkens changed from a capitalist philosophy to a socialist
ideal. The Tarkens then began to explore space. They
eventually discovered Earth. When they went to meet the
Terrans, the found nothing but a wasteland where a great
flower of life had blossomed. The Tarkens began to study
every facet of Terran life to better understand their
extinct neighbors. This endeavor was called Project Earth.
